Due to splash, it is usually MUCH more effective at ogre heavy locations and most people report getting further in waves than using harpoons. So, if you only put 1,2, (sometimes you can get away with 3) upgrades into something like a wall and it is close enough to a fully upgraded tower, the djinn will completely ignore that item.
